Short
X to Y presents a world in which our unborn children control our romantic destiny. Every intuitive nudge we feel on earth comes from one of our potential children, pushing us toward a prospective mate, trying to bring themselves into the world. These children speak to their parents through X and Y crystal orbs, each with a direct tap into the subconscious of either their mother or father. Their lives are spent waiting until they accomplish their ultimate mission of bringing their X and Y together. Our story focuses on Toby, a Pre-Birth who has been waiting to be born for 5,000 years. Fate seems to be stacked against him. No matter how skillful he is at implanting gut instincts to draw his prospective parents together, he fails. Priya (his X) and Neil (his Y) live on opposite sides of the world. A Pre-B named Skittle befriends the lonely Toby and in the process changes the direction of his life. Skittle stumbles upon a solution to bring Toby's parents from San Francisco to New Delhi. Wanting to surprise Toby, she secretly speaks to his XY orbs and introduces Neil and Priya over a computer tech support line. After centuries of disappointment, Toby's goal seems finally in reach. However, the imminent prospect of birth uncovers an apprehension toward life on earth that has been brewing in Toby for thousands of years. Will he take the irreversible step into the unknown or will he play it safe and remain in limbo?
